About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: MS/Tele Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night 3x12-Hour Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum of 1 year required License: New York license required in hand to submit Certifications: BLS required Must-Have: Mandatory competency with phlebotomy and placing IVs. Experience in interpreting dysrhythmias and managing dysrhythmias. Knowledge of IV insulin protocols, feeding tube care and management, and blood product administration. Familiarity with peripheral line care/management, heparin protocols, and managing cardiac drips (no titration). Experience with PCA, orthopedic trauma, total joint replacements, chest tubes (Emerson/Pleur-Evac), external CPAP/BiPAP, high flow nasal cannula (HFNC), tracheostomy management, and wound care/wound vac. Ability to float within the scope to meet facility needs. Description: RNs are expected to manage a patient ratio of 6-7 to 1 on nights, with possible stretches up to 8-10 if staffing issues arise. Patient care includes individuals diagnosed with osteoarthritis of any joints and fractures of any bones. Support services available on the unit include IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and a unit secretary. Experience with the Epic charting system is preferred. Scrub colors can be any combination of navy and white. Travelers will be required to have competency in specific clinical procedures as detailed. All candidates should be prepared for potential floating between like units. Weekends are required every other week. Further assessments may be necessary to confirm specific background qualifications.
