Registered Nurse – Medical / Surgical
Location: Atlanta, GA
Job Type: Contract
Duration: 13 Weeks
Shift: Night | 7:00 PM–7:00 AM
Schedule: 3x12 Hours | 36 Hours/Week
Traveler Candidates: Required
Pay Rate:
Traveler: $40–$48/hr, based on experience
Required Qualifications:
- Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license — Required
- Minimum 2 years of recent Medical-Surgical nursing experience — Required
- AHA BLS certification — Required
- NIH certification — Required
- AHA ACLS certification — Preferred
- Strong clinical assessment and critical-thinking skills
- Strong patient-care skills
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced Medical-Surgical environment
- Must be available to work the required holiday schedule
Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to adult Medical-Surgical patients
- Perform patient assessments and monitor changes in condition
- Administer medications, treatments, and therapies according to physician orders and nursing standards
- Develop and implement individualized patient care plans
- Monitor vital signs, laboratory results, and patient responses to treatment
- Identify and report changes in patient condition
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and multidisciplinary healthcare teams
- Provide patient and family education regarding treatment, medications, and discharge planning
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation
- Follow hospital policies, infection-control procedures, patient-safety standards, and regulatory requirements
- Provide quality, patient-centered care throughout the assignment
