Job Description Summary:

The Senior Specialist, Patient Access - Specialty Operations is responsible for facilitating new patient’s transition to Option Care Health services with the goal of delivering a consistent onboarding experience where patients and referral partners feel Option Care Health makes it easy to transition care. The Senior Specialist, Patient Access - Specialty Operations works in conjunction with Sales to prepare patients for OCH services and facilitates all aspects of the patient’s transition to home/AIS. Additional reponsibilities as designated by leadership inclusive but not limited to training and special projects and any additional tasks assigned by manager.

Job Description: ​

Job Responsibilities (listed in order of importance and/or time spent)

• Engages with patient, referral source, sales, pharmacy, and nursing to coordinate discharge and secure nursing and delivery.

• Creates, communicates and obtains all required documentation for new referrals.

• Secures patient’s upfront payment including assisting patients to find avenues for payment where needed (identifies opportunities and directs patient to financial assistance program).

• Supports the ongoing activities needed to ensure clean claims on hold and denial management (follow-up on paperwork where missing).

• Assist Supervisor and Manager with special assignments as needed including acting as backup for Lead Specialist.

• Assists Lead by communicating opportunities for improvement in process and offers resolutions to present to PRM

Basic Education and/or Experience Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.

• Internal Candidates: 1 year experience as a Patient Registration Specialist.

Basic Qualifications

• Ability to multi-task and support numerous referrals/priorities at one time.

• Ability to work in a fast past environment.

• Must be detail-oriented and have a high degree of quality focus.

• High degree of customer service skills required.

• Ability to trouble shoot, problem solves and collaborate with cross-functional team members across sales and operation functions.

Preferred Qualifications & Interests (PQIs)

• Previous healthcare/medical billing experience preferred.

May perform other duties as assigned

Due to state pay transparency laws, the full range for the position is below:

Salary to be determined by the applicant's education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.

Pay Range is $21.07-$35.12
