IT Virtual Desktop Engineer

Salary: $128,000 - 168,000 per year Requirements:

• We need experience supporting enterprise endpoint environments across Windows and macOS platforms.
• We need hands-on experience operating or supporting Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) environments.
• We need working knowledge of endpoint and virtual desktop fundamentals, including image management, application delivery, patching, and compliance monitoring.
• We need experience with automated application packaging and deployment methods.
• We need basic scripting or automation experience, such as PowerShell or a similar tool.
• We need an understanding of endpoint and VDI security best practices and configuration baselines.
• We need the ability to work within structured change, testing, and release management processes.
• We need strong troubleshooting, documentation, and analytical capabilities.
• We need effective communication and collaboration skills.
• We need familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite or Microsoft 365, or the ability to learn it quickly.
• We need a bachelors degree in a related discipline or equivalent practical experience.
• We need 2+ years of experience supporting enterprise endpoint or virtual desktop environments.
• We need 4+ years of overall experience supporting desktop or end-user computing platforms.
• Preferred: strong experience supporting cloud-hosted or enterprise virtual desktop environments, ideally Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD).
• Preferred: experience with Microsoft Azure, Intune, and Entra ID.
• Preferred: familiarity with Nerdio Manager for Enterprise.
• Preferred: experience supporting macOS devices in a managed enterprise environment.
• Preferred: familiarity with professional services or regulated industries.
• Preferred: exposure to ITIL concepts, including incident, problem, and change management.
• We need the ability to sit or stand for extended periods and to perform moderate to advanced keyboard work.

• We support daily engineering and operational work across endpoint and virtual desktop platforms, including provisioning, configuration, patching, and lifecycle updates.
• We execute and validate standardized virtual desktop images and configurations in cloud-hosted VDI environments, aligning them with performance, security, and usability expectations.
• We assist with application packaging, testing, and deployment for endpoint and virtual desktop use cases through automated delivery methods.
• We participate in patch and update cycles for operating systems, productivity applications, and third-party software across physical and virtual environments.
• We support policy-driven endpoint and VDI configuration controls to maintain compliance and limit configuration drift.
• We perform quality assurance checks for endpoint and VDI changes, including testing, pilot validation, and post-deployment verification.
• We help troubleshoot endpoint and virtual desktop issues by carrying out structured triage and escalating to engineering teams when required.
• We create and maintain reports on deployment progress, compliance status, and virtual desktop health and availability.
• We support incident and problem handling through our IT service management platform.
• We maintain technical documentation, runbooks, and operational procedures for endpoint and VDI services.
• We collaborate with Endpoint Engineering, Infrastructure, Security, and Service Delivery teams to deliver coordinated service outcomes.
• We maintain a regular and predictable work schedule and remain fully engaged during business hours unless otherwise approved or required by applicable law.
