Registered Nurse (RN) - Acute Care / Medical Surgical

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) with a focus on Acute Care and Medical Surgical to join our team. This is a night shift position, working in a dynamic environment that prioritizes patient care and teamwork.

Job Details

• Location: Bluffton, IN
• Shift: Nights (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM) every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
• Duration: 13 weeks
• RTO Blackout Dates: Every other holiday
• Maximum Amount of RTO: Up to 48 hours for a 13-week commitment
• Floating: Not required
• Blocked Scheduling: Available

Responsibilities

The primary responsibilities include:

• Perform nursing assessments and provide comprehensive care to patients in an acute care setting.
• Administer medications and monitor patients' vital signs and overall health status.
• Manage telemetry for patients requiring cardiac monitoring.
• Engage in IV starts and collaborate with a nursing team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Work alongside patient care technicians and house supervisors for support and effective patient management.

Qualifications

• Current RN licensure in the state of Indiana.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications are required.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification is preferred.
• A minimum of 3 years of nursing experience is preferred, particularly in acute care and medical surgical settings.
• Experience with ICU drips is considered a plus.

Unit Information

• Facility Size: 40 licensed beds, including 10 swing beds.
• Number of Beds in Unit: 20.
• Monthly Department Volume: Average daily census of 10 patients.
• Patient Ratio: 1 nurse to 6 patients for acute care, and 1 nurse to 10 patients for swing bed patients.
