Per Diem Research Associate - Bilingual Spanish Preferred

Position Summary Become a Research Associate (Per Diem) in the Center for Surgical and Transplant Applied Research (CSTAR) supporting clinical and translational studies. Responsibilities include participant recruitment, data collection, specimen handling, maintaining study documentation, navigating databases, and contributing to reports and study material development. The role offers skill development in patient‑oriented clinical research operations. Responsibilities Conduct clinical research data collection and interact with human subjects. Maintain clinical research data, ensuring accuracy and completeness. Perform study procedures primarily in dialysis centers across NYC and other clinical settings. Conduct in‑person and remote patient recruitment, data collection, and follow‑up visits. Conduct chart abstractions to ascertain clinical data. Administer behavioral, exercise, and other interventions. Report enrollment, follow‑up, and retention rates for clinical trials and cohort studies. Prepare and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for clinical trials and cohort studies. Perform specimen processing and storage. Maintain study databases by entering, cleaning, and verifying data. Coordinate communication between study sites, clinical staff, and research team members. Participate in study team meetings and contribute to protocol development, recruitment strategies, regulatory submissions, and process improvement discussions. Assist in the development and pilot testing of study instruments, surveys, and data collection tools. Prepare study materials such as recruitment flyers, participant packets, and consent forms. Schedule and document study visits, maintaining detailed logs. Assist in the preparation of reports, abstracts, posters, and manuscripts for presentations and publications. Ensure compliance with Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and institutional policies related to participant safety, confidentiality, and data management. Monitor study supplies and coordinate with laboratory and clinical teams for inventory and equipment maintenance. Assist with quality assurance activities, including source document verification and internal audits. Support grant and budget tracking, including study reimbursements and invoicing for multicenter projects. After a period of time, train newly hired Research Associates, graduate students, and postdoctoral fellows in study design, data collection, blood processing technique, and other aspects of research. Qualifications College graduate with a B.S. or B.A. in Biomedical or Physical Sciences. Minimum commitment of two years. Eligible for a maximum of three years.
