Our team solves tough, meaningful problems that create a safer, more secure world.The Energetics and Propulsion Department is an engineering organization in the Hardware Engineering Directorate. This Department is responsible for the full spectrum of warhead, fuzing, and propulsion designs/technology, including power systems, ignition, and all other weapon initiation safety systems technology. An individual in this role will be expected to work with a product team and functional subject matter experts to develop architectures, top level design concepts, requirements, and manage production efforts for a variety of one shots devices (i.e. initiators, gas generators, pyroswitches, explosive bolts).**This position is an remote role.****What You Will Do*** Complex problem solving* Responsible for technical execution of tasks* Commitment to program schedule and budget* Technical oversight of our power source batteries and/or one shot development programs* You will ensure two-way communication management; serve as the day-to-day liaison to the programs concerning resource technical assignments* Contribute to technology development roadmaps* Support failure analysis and corrective action through redesign of failed power source or one shot device components or systems* Present power source and/or one shot device design models and supporting analyses/test results to internal and customer review meetings* Support proposals requiring one shots technologies* Support development of Critical Item Development Specifications (CIDS)* Oversee fact-finding and contract negotiations* Test data reduction* Ensure technical rigor and depth of all deliverables* Must be willing to travel to suppliers and government facilities* Proposal and cost preparation, requirements definition, and one shot device subsystems analysis, test and verification; operational test support; supplier collaboration**Qualification You Must Have*** Bachelor’s Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and 8 years of prior relevant experience OR an Advanced degree and 5 years of relevant experience* A minimum of eight (8) years of experience in power sources / one shots / engineering technology and/or engineering design* Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date.
