Reporting to the Department Manager, this hands-on leadership position oversees the maintenance team, coordinates preventive maintenance programs, troubleshoots machinery issues, and supports continuous improvement across plant operations. This role is ideal for an experienced maintenance professional who thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and enjoys leading teams while solving complex technical challenges.What You’ll DoSupervise, train, and mentor maintenance technicians to support efficient daily operationsOversee and perform troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of plant equipment, including mills, welders, cutting systems, and material handling equipmentDevelop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance programs to reduce downtime and extend equipment lifeEnforce safety protocols and ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and company policiesRespond quickly to equipment breakdowns and production disruptions, coordinating emergency repairs as neededMonitor spare parts inventory and coordinate procurement of required componentsIdentify and implement process improvements to enhance reliability, efficiency, and cost-effectivenessMaintain accurate documentation of maintenance activities, equipment history, and compliance recordsCollaborate with production, engineering, and quality teams to support seamless operations and continuous improvement initiativesWho You Are5+ years of industrial maintenance experience, preferably in steel manufacturing or heavy industry2+ years of supervisory experience leading a maintenance teamAssociate degree or technical certification in industrial maintenance, mechanical engineering, or a related field, preferred; equivalent experience consideredStrong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systemsWelding and fabrication experience, preferredProven ability to diagnose complex mechanical and electrical issues and implement effective solutionsFamiliarity with CMMS systems and Microsoft Office applicationsStrong commitment to safety with knowledge of OSHA standards and industrial safety best practicesPhysical AbilitiesPerform work in a manufacturing or industrial environmentStand, walk, climb, bend, stoop, push, and pull as requiredLift and move materials and equipment as necessary to support maintenance activitiesMeet additional physical requirements as needed for the roleWhat You’ll GetAtlas Tube at Zekelman Industries offers competitive compensation and excellent benefits, including low-cost, high-quality medical and dental coverage.
