Seeking Dementia Caregiver for Veteran & Former Teacher in Columbia, MO

Do you enjoy building meaningful relationships with seniors living with Alzheimer's or dementia?

We're seeking a compassionate, experienced caregiver to support a retired teacher, Army veteran, and devoted family man who enjoys walks, music, conversation, and staying active.

This role is ideal for someone who understands dementia care and enjoys creating engaging, purposeful days, not just completing tasks.

REQUIRED AVAILABILITY (MINIMUM)

Monday & Friday
8:00 AM – 12:00 PM
Additional daytime opportunities available
Expanded hours available July 8–15

What You'll Do

Provide companionship and respite support
Assist with showers and grooming
Support shaving, dressing, oral care, and appearance
Take walks with the client and family dog
Visit parks, libraries, and community locations
Engage through music, conversation, and shared interests
Use calm redirection when confusion occurs
Help maintain dignity, confidence, and routine

We're Looking For Someone Who

Has Alzheimer's/dementia experience
Remains calm during confusion or agitation
Enjoys meaningful conversation
Is comfortable with personal care
Is dependable and proactive
Can create engagement rather than waiting for it
