Plant Engineering Manager

Job Description
FPC is assisting a leading client who is seeking a Plant Engineering Manager to lead engineering, maintenance, and reliability functions at a fast‑paced, well‑established manufacturing site specializing in high‑performance surface overlays and bonding materials. Reporting directly to the Plant Manager, this role drives asset management, capital execution, and continuous improvement across the facility.
\n \nThis opportunity is ideal for a hands‑on engineering or maintenance leader who thrives in an environment that values autonomy, cross‑functional collaboration, and true operational ownership .
\n \nSalary : Around $130K + 10% Bonus with Stretch to 20%
\n \nKey Responsibilities
\n- \n
- Own all plant engineering assets, including capital budgeting, maintenance planning, and spending oversight. \n
- Lead plant capital projects from concept through installation and startup. \n
- Manage vendor relationships and evaluate equipment against technical and quality requirements. \n
- Hire, direct, and develop maintenance team members. \n
- Optimize workforce utilization, preventive/predictive maintenance, and equipment layout for efficiency. \n
- Provide engineering support for plant improvements, including design work, cost analysis, and equipment selection. \n
- Advance automation, controls, and manufacturing systems to improve reliability and consistency. \n
- Participate in PHA, PSSR, HAZOP, and lead RCA/RCFA training and execution. \n
- Ensure compliance with PSM requirements and fixed equipment inspection programs . \n
Requirements
\n- \n
- B.S. in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering preferred. \n
- 5+ years in plant maintenance, engineering, or industrial manufacturing. \n
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem‑solving skills. \n
- Proven commitment to safety and knowledge of OSHA, machine safeguarding, and LOTO. \n
- Ability to collaborate across all levels and respond to after‑hours emergencies. \n
- US Citizen or Green Card holder required. \n
Preferred

- Experience with TPM, Six Sigma, Lean, 5S. \n
- Background in continuous or batch processes (Paper, Tissue, Non‑Wovens, Coatings, Engineered Wood, Printing, Chemical, etc.). \n
- Experience with PSM program implementation. \n
