Provide specialized neuro medical-surgical care to patients in a telemetry and stroke center environment. The nurse will assess, monitor, and manage patients with neurological and other medical conditions, ensuring high-quality patient care and safety. Responsibilities:
- Perform comprehensive neuro assessments and interpret neurological findings.
- Monitor telemetry and EKG readings, responding promptly to abnormalities.
- Administer medications and treatments following established protocols.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient care plans.
- Support the Epilepsy Monitoring Unit by managing patients with seizure disorders.
- Float to other units as needed to support hospital staffing requirements.
- Possess at least 2 years of relevant neuro-med/surg telemetry experience.
- Hold a valid Maryland or Compact RN license.
- Demonstrate proficiency in basic EKG testing and recognition of cardiac rhythms.
- Maintain current BLS and ACLS certifications.
- Successfully complete NIHSS certification prior to orientation.
- Exhibit strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
