Oracle Database Administrator

This is a long- term contract, hybrid to Forsyth, GA (2 days onsite.) We are seeking an experienced Oracle Database Administrator (DBA) with expertise in Oracle Database 11g to manage, maintain, and optimize enterprise database environments. The Oracle DBA will be responsible for database installation, configuration, performance tuning, backup and recovery, security, and ensuring high availability of mission-critical Oracle databases. The role also involves collaborating with application developers, system administrators, and infrastructure teams to maintain reliable database operations. The Oracle DBA will also play a key role in planning and implementing migration of the database environment. Key Responsibilities Install, configure, upgrade, and maintain Oracle Database 11g environments. Monitor database performance and perform SQL and database tuning. Create and manage database users, roles, and security privileges. Perform database backup, recovery, and disaster recovery using RMAN. Manage database storage, tablespaces, datafiles, and archive logs. Troubleshoot database issues and resolve production incidents. Perform database patching, cloning, migration, and upgrades. Implement database monitoring and capacity planning. Configure and maintain Oracle Net Services (Listener and TNS). Support high availability solutions such as Oracle Data Guard and Oracle RAC (if applicable). Develop and maintain database maintenance scripts using Shell, SQL, and PL/SQL. Perform database health checks and ensure compliance with organizational standards. Work closely with development teams to optimize SQL queries and database design. Maintain database documentation, operational procedures, and change records. Required Skills Strong experience administering Oracle Database 11g. Expertise in SQL and PL/SQL. Database performance tuning and optimization. Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM) administration. User, role, and privilege management. Linux/UNIX administration and shell scripting. Oracle Net Services configuration. Database migration, patching, and upgrades. Experience with import/export utilities (Data Pump). Knowledge of ASM (Automatic Storage Management). Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. 3-7+ years of Oracle DBA experience. Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) certification is preferred. Experience with Oracle 12c/19c migration projects is an advantage. Familiarity with cloud platforms (OCI, AWS, or Azure) is a plus. Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills. Excellent problem-solving abilities. Ability to work in a 24x7 production support environment. Strong communication and documentation skills.
