General Maintenance TechnicianKansas Speedway, which opened in 2001, is in the heart of the Midwest in Kansas City, Kansas. With easy access to major highways, along with the Hollywood Casino at Kansas Speedway, restaurants, shopping and other entertainment, Kansas Speedway has easily become a destination for fans. The track hosts two NASCAR Cup Series races, the NASCAR O'Reilly Auto Parts Series, the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series and the ARCA Menards Series. In addition to two race weekends, Kansas Speedway hosts over 200 event days each year.NASCAR seeks a talented professional to join in the position of a General Maintenance Technician based at the Kansas Speedway.This position is responsible for the routine preventative maintenance, repairs and track services duties. Operating a variety of equipment. Basic office systems knowledge including but not limited to computer systems and programs, and cellular phone.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesPerforms all preventive maintenance functions including some electrical, plumbing and HVAC maintenance/repairs related to building maintenance.Welds, cuts and fabricates.Tests repaired equipment to ensure operating efficiency.Requisitions parts and equipment with Supervisors approval.Keeps records and reports.Provides general housekeeping to maintain a clean and safe facility.Operate equipment as needed.Employee will be responsible for track preparation, maintenance, and restoration.Track cleaning (sweeping, blowing, applying and picking up absorbent, washing/scrubbing fluids off of the track, etc.).Reconfiguring the track between oval, full road course, modified road course, short road course, and drag strip.General maintenance around the facility, including painting.Ability to operate and maintain many different pieces of equipment including vehicles, lifts, and other heavy machinery.Installing and storing signage throughout the property.Assist with fleet management and inventory.Other duties as assignedQualificationsMust be able to work a flexible schedule, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays, and extended hours during race events.High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experienceMust possess a valid driver's license in good standing and meet clean driving record criteria.Behind every race weekend are talented people helping shape the future of sports and entertainment.
