Crane Operator

Garney Construction Marine Crane Operator in Buford, GA. Responsible for performing heavy picks on a floating barge using a lattice boom or hydraulic crane, and operating various pile driving equipment. The role requires teamwork, adaptability, and a commitment to safety on the water. This position is essential to the smooth operation of our marine services. What You Will Be Doing Picking heavy pipe, miscellaneous equipment, setting spuds on the barge, and driving sheets on land. Performing daily inspections on equipment to ensure proper function. Conducting routine cleaning and maintenance of the deck and equipment, including reporting any malfunctions or required repairs. Following all safety protocols, assisting in safety drills, and ensuring safety equipment is accessible and in good condition. Supporting other crew members in their tasks as needed, maintaining effective communication and teamwork. What We Are Looking For Must possess an NCCCO Crane Operator License for lattice boom and hydraulic cranes (or equivalent certification). Minimum of 5 years of experience operating hydraulic lattice boom and crawler cranes. Basic understanding of rigging, working loads, and signals. Experience working from floating barges is desired. Willingness to work overtime. Basic Safety Training (BST) or equivalent certifications preferred; CPR and First Aid certifications are a plus. Strong teamwork and communication skills; able to follow instructions and work efficiently in a fast‑paced environment. Physical fitness and ability to perform tasks requiring lifting, climbing, and working in diverse weather conditions.
