Role Overview As a Cat Scan Technician, you will play an essential role in patient diagnostics and care. Working under the guidance of a certified radiologist, you will operate with a significant degree of autonomy. Your responsibilities will include preparing patients, administering contrast agents, ensuring radiation safety, and producing high-quality diagnostic images. Key Responsibilities * Evaluate patients' physical conditions, ages, and suspected medical issues to determine appropriate imaging techniques. * Assist the Radiologist with specific radiographic procedures. * Accurately label images with the time and patient positioning. * Ensure patient comfort and well-being, both physically and mentally, throughout the examination process. * Prepare the examination room with all necessary supplies before procedures begin. * Communicate procedures clearly to patients, keeping them informed of progress and assisting with transfers on and off the examination table. * Monitor equipment functionality and report any malfunctions to the supervisor. * Prepare and clean the examination room before and after patient visits. * Utilize the Radiology Information System to manage patient cases effectively. * Apply knowledge of growth and development principles to assess and meet the age-specific needs of each patient. Qualifications * Graduate of an AMA-accredited School of Radiologic Technology. * Registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technology. * CT Certification is required. * New Jersey License is mandatory. * Previous experience in CT is essential. * Must maintain a current BLS Heart Saver/Health Care Provider certification through the American Heart Association.
