Position Summary

The Maintenance Helper supports the Maintenance Team in the repair, troubleshooting, installation, and preventive maintenance of manufacturing equipment throughout the facility. This role plays a key part in helping ensure equipment reliability, minimizing downtime, and maintaining a safe working environment. Key Responsibilities

• Perform daily, weekly, and monthly preventive maintenance on plant equipment
• Assist Maintenance Technicians with troubleshooting and repairing mechanical and electrical equipment
• Dismantle machinery and equipment using hand and power tools to inspect, repair, or replace components
• Assist with equipment installations, including conduit and wiring projects
• Complete maintenance work orders, inspections, and preventive maintenance documentation
• Enter daily work performed into the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS)
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
• Support continuous improvement initiatives within the maintenance department
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor

Qualifications

Required Skills and Abilities

• Basic industrial mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
• Ability to safely use hand tools and power tools
• Ability to read and follow written instructions
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety
• Basic computer skills and ability to enter maintenance activities into a CMMS system
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment
• Basic industrial electrical knowledge
• Experience performing preventive maintenance activities
• Technical training, trade school education, or maintenance-related certifications are a plus

Physical Requirements & Working Conditions

• Work in a manufacturing and distribution environment
• Frequent standing, walking, bending, and lifting
• Ability to lift and move materials as required
• Exposure to machinery, dust, noise, and varying temperatures
• Required use of personal protective equipment (PPE), including:
  • Safety glasses
  • Hearing protection
  • Respiratory protection when required
