ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF COOKS:
- Follow selected recipes for meals to be prepared
- Prepare meals using batch cooking techniques and ensure they are completed on time for scheduled meal times
- Ensure all meals are prepared and served at proper temperatures
- Ensure needed and appropriate supplies are available before the start of any cooking cycle
- Maintain a high sanitation standard in the cooking area and clean as you go
- Know and follow a comprehensive cleaning list
- Use sanitizing solutions per policy
- Report all hazardous conditions and equipment to the supervisor immediately
- Follow established Infection Control and Universal Precautions policies and procedures when performing daily tasks
- Attend and participate in all required employee training
QUALIFICATIONS FOR COOKS:
- Previous Cooking experience in a Skilled Nursing Facility or Assisted Living Facility is required
- High school diploma or GED.
- Must be able to speak, read, and write English
- Strong organizational skills.
- Professional and personable with all residents, visitors, and staff
- Must have compassion, tolerance, and understanding of residents and their families
