Quality Assurance Web & Automation Engineer

Our client, a non-profit labor health fund, is actively looking for a Quality Assurance Web & Automation Engineer to join their team in Rosemont, IL! This role is primarily remote however candidates must be local in order to eligible for conversion.

***This is a 6-12 month contract to hire position***

Responsibilities

Web testing for 6 web apps (3 apps are fully automated, 2 do not have any automated, and 2 have tests currently running)
Perform UI testing
New feature testing vs automation
Debug and maintain scripts (and clean up any flakiness)
Be involved with sprint planning
Help build out automation framework
Validate APIs
Be able to identify where bugs are, not just finding bugs

Required Skills & Experience:

At least 8 years of professional experience on a variety of projects in Test Strategy, Test Design, Test Execution analysis & reporting
Strong hands-on experience in planning and manual test execution
Hands-on experience with Automated Testing tools such as Selenium, TestComplete, UFT etc.
Verifiable experience developing and maintaining a Selenium test framework that integrates with C#
Strong hands-on experience in Regression Test Strategies, Regression suite maintenance and execution
Strong hands-on experience using SQL queries for results validation and data mining
Experience in API testing as part of backend validation
Experience in Mobile Testing is a strong plus
Hands-on experience with one or more of the following languages: Python, JS, PowerShell, etc.
Experience using AI for QA & testing use cases such as but not limited to - writing test cases, test data, debugging/troubleshooting, automation, etc. Advanced experience below a strong plus:
Experience using Microsoft Playwright library and framework
Proficiency in Prompt Engineering and working with LLMs
Framework architecture, test migration from one framework to another
Integration of MCP and agentic testing using Microsoft Playwright
