Job Duties
- Check raw materials when they arrive.
- Read blueprints and product guides.
- Measure items with tools like calipers, gauges, and micrometers.
- Test how well finished items work.
- Accept good items and reject bad ones.
- Write down test results and log data into computers.
- Tell supervisors when a machine or process makes errors. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6]
Skills and Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- One to three years of factory or hands-on work.
- Good eye for small flaws and details.
- Basic math and computer skills.
- Know how to use testing and measuring tools.
- Good speaking skills to report problems clearly
