Software Engineer II - Authorization Team

Full‑Stack Software Engineer – PagerDuty PagerDuty is seeking a Full‑Stack Software Engineer to join our diverse and customer‑focused team. You’ll be working on our authentication and authorization platform, a core part of our business that helps organizations securely access and govern the usage of their data within PagerDuty. You’ll work across the full stack, including Rails and React, while helping pioneer agentic development practices that treat AI as a first‑class engineering partner. Key Responsibilities Design, code, test, and ship backend applications and microservices, APIs, and front‑end interfaces that ensure we deliver secure, highly reliable and scalable solutions to our customers. Collaborate closely with engineers across teams. Solve challenging technical problems for more than 20,000 global customers. Participate in the team’s on‑call rotation and triage production issues as they arise. Basic Qualifications Minimum of 4 years of experience designing, building, and operating large systems with scalability, availability, and performance requirements. Experience building customer‑facing, web‑based products. Demonstrated experience with Ruby, React, and AI coding tools. Preferred Qualifications Operational experience in cloud technologies such as AWS. Experience with languages such as Elixir or Java. Experience with databases and tools (e.g., MySQL, Aurora, Kafka, NoSQL). Experience building user‑facing public APIs. Experience designing and implementing distributed and highly available systems. Exposure to authentication/authorization concepts (OAuth, SSO, RBAC/ReBAC). Salary The base salary range for this position is $113,000 – $190,300 USD. The role may also be eligible for bonus, commission, equity, and/or benefits. Work Location This role is expected to come into our Atlanta office 2 days a week. We operate a hybrid work model with offices in 8 major cities: Atlanta, Lisbon, London, San Francisco, Santiago, Sydney, Tokyo, and Toronto.
