RN E7 Medical ICU (Full Time), West Penn Hospital

Job Title

This position is full-time 36 hours per week; rotational (days/nights/weekend requirements).

E7 Medical Icu

West Penn's 14-bed Medical Icu (Micu) is a dynamic environment specializing in critical care for a diverse medical patient population. Our nurses provide continuous monitoring and advanced support for patients across a range of medical and respiratory cases, including copd, chf, ards, oncology bmt, gi bleed, acute respiratory distress, dka, ischemic stroke patients, along with others. The unit supports ventilated patients and utilizes continuous renal replacement therapy (crrt). Nurses on this unit also have the opportunity to be trained for the hospital's rapid response team.

Attention current internal west penn t4 icu registered nurses: successful candidates transferring to the e7 icu will participate in a transitional rotation between the t4 and e7 units. This arrangement will be in effect until the t4 surgical icu achieves full and adequate staffing.

General Overview

The registered nurse assesses human responses and plans, implements and evaluates nursing care for individuals or families for whom the nurse is responsible. The registered nurse is fully responsible for all actions as a licensed nurse and is accountable to patients for the quality of care delivered.

Qualifications

Minimum

• act 34 criminal background clearance certificate
• act 33 child abuse clearance certificate
• act 73 fbi fingerprinting criminal background clearance certificate
• current state of pa rn licensure or current multi-state licensure through the enhanced nurse licensure compact (enlc).
• cpr certification

Preferred

• certification in area of specialty
