Law Clerk II

Employment Type: Full-Time, Experienced Department: Legal Services CGS is seeking an experienced Law Clerk to provide assistance in all phases of litigation for a large federal agency office. The role involves supporting high‑profile opioid and other significant cases, performing trial preparation, document review, legal research, and administrative support for attorneys. Responsibilities Assist with all phases of litigation for opioid and other high‑profile cases. Perform trial preparation tasks and other duties as assigned by attorneys. Review and analyze documents, transcripts, files, and other materials to locate evidence relevant to investigative actions. Use electronic databases to review, organize, index, tag, and summarize documents and files. Conduct database searches for documents and information. Troubleshoot technical issues with review platforms and tools. Apply redactions to documents of all types, including audio files. Draft review memos and other litigation documents as required. Communicate directly with case teams regarding ongoing litigation. Draft, organize, and manage litigation review materials. Use task ticketing software to track litigation case support. Qualifications J.D. Degree. Active member of the Bar in any U.S. jurisdiction. Experience with civil litigation (preferred), especially involving complex federal cases and jury trials. U.S. Citizenship. Requires a law degree, or current attendance at an ABA‑accredited law school with at least two years of study, or an equivalent level of legal training or experience. At least two years of progressively responsible experience on litigation support or related projects, demonstrating strong communication skills and client interaction. Sound working knowledge of federal and state court systems, legal research procedures, and legal research resources. Excellent written and oral communication skills and thorough knowledge of legal research tools such as LEXIS and Westlaw. Hands‑on familiarity with a variety of computer applications, including word processing, databases, spreadsheets, and imaging. Hands‑on familiarity with ESI tools and knowledge of eDiscovery procedures and resources.
