Registered Nurse - Pediatric Oncology (Chemotherapy Certified)

Contract | Nights | 3×12-Hour Shifts (19:00-07:30) | Every Other Weekend Required

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to pediatric patients with hematology/oncology diagnoses, including all types of childhood cancers and sickle cell disease
• Administer and monitor chemotherapy and biotherapy agents; manage body fluid handling post-chemotherapy and symptom management
• Perform and manage IV therapy including central line care, port access, central line blood draws, peripheral line management, phlebotomy, and IV starts; administer blood and blood products and TPN/Lipids
• Assist with lumbar punctures; manage patients with seizure disorders, neuromuscular disease, chest tubes, oxygen delivery systems, indwelling urinary catheters, and renal failure
• Apply infection prevention protocols, isolation precautions/PPE, wound care/assessment, and utilize Pediatric Early Warning Score (PEWS)/Rapid Response Team processes
• Float within skillset as needed to Peds, PICU stepdown, and Adolescent units; provide on-call or work coverage for 1-2 winter holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's) per unit requirement

Required Qualifications

• Active New Jersey RN license or Compact license required at time of submission
• BLS certification required
• PALS certification required
• APHON Pediatric Chemotherapy and Biotherapy Provider Card required
• Minimum 2 years of Pediatric Hematology/Oncology nursing experience required
• EPIC charting experience required
• Locals are welcome and accepted

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with pediatric dosage calculations and chemotherapy administration in an academic or comprehensive cancer center setting
• Familiarity with cellular therapies, stem-cell transplantation protocols, or clinical trial environments
• Experience floating across pediatric care areas including PICU stepdown and adolescent units
