Aerial Lineman

Backbone Fiber is seeking to hire a full‑time Aerial Foreman in Berthoud, CO. Responsibilities Perform field verification and execution plan for each project. Conduct a pre‑site survey to check fiber placement, vaults, and handholes. Ensure work zones are properly marked and safety measures (traffic control, PPE) are in place. Confirm access to install locations, buildings, or aerial lines. Communicate job expectations with the aerial install team. Manage and work alongside field technicians to ensure projects are on‑time and on‑budget. Identify and resolve areas of inefficiency to maximize performance and workflow. Link project timelines and budgets to give linemen a clear understanding of the big picture. Optimize team abilities, resources, and processes to improve operational performance. Facilitate smooth project and team transitions through effective change management strategies. Meet daily production goals with minimal defects. Coordinate ground support for linemen and engineering technicians to optimize installation and maintenance services. Maintain accurate records of materials used in construction and maintenance activities. Perform direct aerial linemen fieldwork, directly involved in the physical installation of fiber optic systems on telephone lines. Set, track, and review performance objectives of direct reports. Guide direct reports in embodying Backbone’s mission, vision, and core values. Ensure the team lifecycle from hiring through transitions, ensuring seamless progression. Promote and ensure a strong safety culture within and through direct reports. Understand and maintain clearances from other utilities to ensure safety and compliance. Skillfully operate lift trucks, line trucks, hydraulic bucket trucks, and auxiliary equipment. Document and input accurate data for reporting, invoicing, and workflow efficiency. Accurately track daily time and field documentation. Perform manual labor to maintain safe clearance from electrical hazards. Ensure project productivity through accurate documentation, resource allocation, and coaching. Train team members in installation best practices and safety standards. Ensure project quality through thorough training, assessments, and accountability measures. Evaluate the skill levels of installation technicians to guide their development. Ensure new technicians are proficient in installation tasks. Assist with other duties as assigned. Other Requirements Ability to work overtime, nights, weekends, and on‑call shifts as needed. Ability to travel up to 25% of your time, up to 13 weeks of the year allocated to travel work. Ability to meet the physical requirements of the role in all weather conditions.
