Alpert JFS is looking for a skilled Food Pantry Operations Manager to be responsible for all aspects of Alpert JFS’s procurement and distribution of food, including pickup, receipt, storage, and distribution of food to community members in need. This individual will train and supervise volunteers to ensure that daily client needs are met and will serve as the agency liaison for community food insecurity efforts. Food Pantry Operations Manager Essential Responsibilities: Oversee and manage the day-to-day operations of the three pantry locations (Palm Beach Gardens, West PalmBeachand BoyntonBeach). Weekly visits to each location at a minimum may require more depending onproject/time of year. Inventory food/supplies quarterly and provide required food bank report. Work with vendors to order food and supplies to supplement donations for the pantry tomeet community needs. Per approved budgetary guidelines, manage monthly food spend. Manage food waste, pantry traffic, and shelf placement. Manage andsubmitmonthly invoices to accounting and create requests when needed. Work with the Volunteer Coordinator to schedule volunteers toassistwith packing,sorting,and stocking shelves, etc. Responsible for tracking donations for food pantry, including delivering checks to accountingand tracking in-kind donations withthe DevelopmentDepartment. Accept food donations and managereceivingfood deliveries to stock the food pantry. Prepare monthly checklists to track food, householditemsand/or personal hygiene products to bedistributed each month. Communicate with the Temple’s Executive Director to coordinate monthly facility packagingset-up. Other Responsibilities as assigned. Essential Training Understanding andparticipatingin the Agency’s Performance and Quality Improvement framework, functions, and activities. Requirements Bachelor’s degree preferred. 3-5 years working in a non-profit with at least one year program oversight. Experience recruiting and/or working with volunteers. Strong communication and leadership skills; ability to interact and communicate with staff, volunteers, and community (pantry clients and donors) . Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel and Word, PowerPoint). Demonstrated cultural sensitivity. Experience working in a highly collaborative environment where teamwork, collegiality and self- motivation were necessary for success. Demonstrated proficiency and experience in customer service with high standards of timeliness and responsiveness. Valid Driver’s License and clean driving record required. Strong organization and time management skills required.
