Family Practice Physician - OB
Cabinet Peaks Medical Center is looking for a Family Practice Physician - OB to join our Family Medicine Team!
The Family Medicine, Pediatric or Internal Medicine physician works as a physician at Cabinet Peaks Family Medicine. Physician performs comprehensive and interval history and physical exams of patients with acute and chronic non-critical conditions. The physician provides leadership, direction, coordination, and administration to the Family Medicine department. The physician will carry out his/her duties by adhering to the highest standards of ethical and moral conduct, acts in the best interest of Cabinet Peaks Medical Center (CPMC), and fully supports the mission, vision, and values of CPMC. The physician will have knowledge of health care systems, and have demonstrated ability to interact, relate to, work with, and support the activities of a diverse workforce. Physicians for Cabinet Peaks Family Medicine will also be required to have supervision oversight for Physician Assistant practitioner(s) working for the practice, as well as, supervision of interns and nursing students rotating through the practice. May be expected to provide pediatric and adult call coverage.
Major Job Duties & Responsibilities
Clearly documents and dictates patient care record in a timely manner.
Establishes accurate diagnosis based on physical examination and ordering/interpretation of appropriate diagnostic testing, including lab and radiology.
Develops safe and effective follow up care.
Develops and clearly communicates patient centered discharge home care plan/instructions.
Apply splints, perform wound care, and repair minor and complex lacerations.
Participates in projects within the department, the facility and the community to enhance services and promote growth of the practice.
Regular and dependable attendance. To include but not limited to: daily shifts, weekend coverage, and meetings.
Demonstrates an ability to be flexible, organized, and function under stressful situations in a positive and professional manner.
Perform complete, detailed and accurate histories, review patient records to develop comprehensive medical status reports, and order laboratory, radiological and diagnostic studies appropriate for complaint, age, race, sex and physical condition of the patient.
Do complete physical examinations and record pertinent data in acceptable medical forms.
Make medical diagnoses and institute therapy or referrals of patients to the appropriate health care facilities, agencies, other resources of the community, or other practices.
Interpret and evaluate patient data to determine patient management and treatment. Consults with others as appropriate to collaborate in improving patient care.
Provide instructions and guidance regarding medical care matters to patients.
Interacts professionally with patient/family and involves patient/family in the formation of the plan of care. Treats patients/family with respect and dignity. Treating all patients with respect in accordance to the CPMC missions: "Quality, Compassionate Care."
Maintains a good working relationship both within the department and with other departments.
Skills, Knowledge & Abilities
Knowledge of suture simple and complex lacerationswound management and care.
Knowledge of appropriate pharmaceutical treatment for pain, microbial, hypertensive, respiratory, and other presenting disorders/conditions.
Clinical assessment skills.
Diagnostic interpretation skills.
Medical screening skills.
Knowledge of Electronic Medical Records.
Ability to complete thorough documentation of evaluation and review of systems per national standards.
Experience
Preferred two years or greater as a licensed physician experienced in a family practice, urgent care clinic, or emergency department caring for patients of all age spectrums and developmental levels.
Fellowship preferred.
Educational Requirements
Graduate of accredited medical school.
MT Physician License.
BLS, ACLS, PALS, & NRP required.
