Contract | Night Shift | 12-Hour Shifts (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM) | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a 20-bed Medical ICU with a 1:2 nurse-to-patient ratio, managing complex diagnoses including sepsis, ARDS, pneumonia, AKI, ETOH withdrawal, and overdose
• Interpret EKG strips and monitor telemetry using Philips monitoring equipment, taking responsibility for reading and interpreting cardiac rhythms
• Manage and titrate a wide variety of vasoactive and cardioactive drips in accordance with physician-ordered parameters
• Provide advanced care for ventilated patients, including management of arterial lines and central lines
• Collaborate with intensivists, telemedicine intensivist support, charge RNs, house supervisors, and patient care techs to deliver comprehensive critical care
• Float to step-down or general medical units as needed, adjusting patient assignments accordingly

Required Qualifications

• Active Illinois RN license (or confirmation that the application process has been initiated)
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications
• Proficiency in EKG interpretation and cardiac rhythm strip reading
• Experience with arterial lines, central lines, and care of ventilated patients
• Advanced knowledge of vasopressor and vasoactive drug titration
• Must be able to pass a drug screen; position is located on a drug-free campus

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior travel nursing experience in a Medical ICU or critical care setting
• Familiarity with Epic electronic health records
• Experience working with Philips telemetry monitoring systems
