A Step Ahead Counseling Center is seeking a full-time Licensed Mental Health Therapist to join our dedicated team, providing specialized care to individuals grappling with the effects of trauma. This role encompasses various therapeutic modalities tailored to assist patients through their recovery journey. We are particularly focused on treating post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), complex trauma, and dissociative disorders, thereby allowing you to profoundly impact the lives of our patients.

Key Responsibilities\n- \n
- Conduct thorough trauma-informed mental health assessments to evaluate patients' trauma history and identify tailored treatment strategies. \n
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans focused on trauma recovery, using evidence-based therapies and interventions, such as EMDR and Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT). \n
- Lead both individual and group therapy sessions, guiding patients through their recovery processes, helping them to develop coping mechanisms, and facilitating healing discussions. \n
- Collaborate closely with psychiatrists and other healthcare professionals to coordinate integrated care tailored to each patient’s unique needs. \n
- Provide crisis intervention support during trauma-related emergencies, ensuring immediate care and establishing safety for patients. \n
- Educate patients and their families regarding trauma responses, coping strategies, and available mental health resources to enhance their understanding and engagement in treatment. \n
- Maintain accurate, confidential, and compliant documentation that meets legal and ethical standards, documenting the progress and treatment of patients in an Electronic Health Record (EHR) system. \n
- Participate in case consultations, team meetings, and professional development workshops, contributing to continuous learning regarding trauma-informed care practices. \n
- Stay informed about the latest research and advancements in trauma therapy to ensure the delivery of effective therapeutic interventions. \n
Our primary focus lies in supporting individuals affected by various forms of trauma. Patients range from those with single-event trauma to others dealing with the complexities of long-term trauma exposure. By specializing in trauma recovery, you will address issues related to PTSD, complex trauma, and dissociative disorders, positively influencing patients' lives and mental health.
Qualifications\n- \n
- A master's or doctoral degree in Social Work, Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, or Psychology from an accredited institution is essential. \n
- Current and valid licensure as an LCSW, LPC, or LMFT in Texas is required. \n
- A strong foundation in trauma-related disorders, including trauma-informed treatment modalities and approaches to resilience-building is necessary. \n
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, coupled with a compassionate and non-judgmental demeanor, are critical for building rapport with patients. \n
- The ability to remain calm under pressure and handle crisis situations effectively is crucial for this role. \n
- Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems and proficiency in related computer applications are required. \n
- A strong commitment to teamwork and collaboration within a multidisciplinary healthcare environment. \n

- At least 2 years of post-licensure clinical experience focused on trauma treatment is preferred. \n
- Proficiency in delivering trauma-focused therapies and a solid understanding of various evidence-based practices is desirable. \n
- Experience in providing group therapy and leading workshops related to trauma recovery is a plus. \n
The position offers an annual salary range of USD 90,000 to 110,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
