Policy Analyst

DutiesFor the GS-12 Policy Analyst the duties include:Coordinate and/or develops new program objectives and legislative and regulatory initiatives to facilitate the achievement of VETS goals and objectives.Develop new programs and/or policies to assist national and regional offices in addressing reoccurring problems related to the administration and enforcement of laws under VETS' purview.Review and analyze statutes and executive orders to provide guidance to the agency concerning the implementation of new program assignments and develops implementing regulations.Develop policy recommendations based on research studies, administration, and legislative priorities, and DOL priorities for consideration by key agency officials.Work with leadership and program staff to develop and formulate interpretations and policies regarding the application of statutes administered and enforced by VETS.
