MOD-MSH Contract

MOD Mississippi State Hospital will be accepting resumes until noon, Wednesday, June 24, 2026, for the purpose of individually hiring one (1) family medicine or internal medicine physician to work as a Contract Worker. The physician will serve as Medical Officer of the Day (MOD) RFx: 3150006867. Duties include, but are not limited to, providing medical care to patients/residents/clients after hours, weekends, and holidays. Minimum qualifications: Verifiable Doctor of Medicine Degree or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine Degree from an accredited medical school; verifiable completion of at least two years of a family medicine or internal medicine residency program; a verifiable current, unrestricted license to practice medicine in the state of Mississippi; a verifiable current registration certificate issued by the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA). The applicant will submit at the time of application, the names of three peer references with knowledge of applicant’s clinical practice. The be employed, the applicant must meet the credentialing requirements set forth in the MSH bylaws for appointment to the MSH medical staff. The applicant must also have satisfactory results from a criminal background and a drug screening. The contract is for an average of 24 hours per week. The total number of hours worked by the contract worker will not exceed 1,248 hours per year. The contract rate will be $90.00 per hour. The contract period will extend from approximately September 2, 2026 - June 30, 2030.
