Job Description

Join a dynamic and specialized repair station that focuses on aircraft maintenance throughout the service life of various fleet types, including narrow and wide-body aircraft. As a Structures Technician Lead, you will lead a team of five technicians, ensuring the inspection, repair, and replacement of aircraft sheet metal structures are performed accurately and efficiently according to FAA regulations.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise a team of five technicians in the inspection, repair, and replacement of aircraft sheet metal structures.
• Research technical data to perform inspections and repairs in accordance with maintenance manuals and FAA regulations.
• Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, or product specifications to determine fabrication, assembly, and installation methods.
• Plan, lay out, fabricate, assemble, install, and repair sheet metal parts using knowledge of metallic and nonmetallic materials.
• Select appropriate gauge and type of sheet metal or nonmetallic materials based on product specifications.
• Lay out and mark dimensions on materials using shop mathematics and layout techniques.
• Perform maintenance work and ensure proper housekeeping in the shop.
• Complete documentation for component removals, training records, and routine work cards.

Essential Skills

• 5+ years of experience in aircraft maintenance.
• Prior experience in a lead role.
• Proficiency in aircraft sheet metal repair, riveting, drilling, and fabrication.
• Experience with commercial aircraft larger than a CRJ 900, particularly Boeing and Airbus models.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Basic set of tools required.
• FAA Drug Test

Work Environment

Work on the B777 Cargo Conversion Program with potential assignments across the property. Operate various equipment such as hydraulic press brakes, power shears, and rivet guns. The role requires physical activities including standing, walking, bending, lifting up to 50lbs, and operating in high-intensity noise and temperature conditions. Protective equipment such as goggles and ear protection is provided. The position is first shift, Monday to Friday, from 6 am to 2:30 pm.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Phoenix, AZ.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $39.12 - $47.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
