Bike Mechanic & Fleet Manager
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Bike Mechanic & Fleet Manager to oversee the maintenance, repair, and daily operations of a fleet of more than 250 bicycles , including high-end full-suspension eMTBs, gravel bikes, comfort bikes, and children's bikes.
This is a hands-on role that combines advanced bicycle mechanics with fleet management and exceptional customer service. The ideal candidate is an organized, detail-oriented professional who is passionate about cycling and committed to ensuring every rider has a safe, clean, and properly maintained bike.
Responsibilities
- Perform advanced maintenance and repairs on full-suspension eMTBs and gravel bikes, including hydraulic brake service, suspension maintenance, drivetrain overhauls, and tubeless tire setups.
- Diagnose and maintain e-bike systems, including firmware updates, battery health, and motor diagnostics (Bosch, Shimano, Specialized, Fazua preferred).
- Conduct daily safety inspections, including brake checks, tire pressure, drivetrain inspections, and overall bike readiness.
- Develop and manage a preventative maintenance program to maximize fleet reliability and minimize downtime.
- Prepare and stage bicycles for daily guest use, ensuring proper sizing, cleanliness, and mechanical condition.
- Clean, inspect, and service returned bicycles, including drivetrain lubrication and repair documentation.
- Maintain an organized workshop and inventory of tools, spare parts, and repair supplies.
- Track repairs, maintenance history, and parts usage for fleet assets.
- Assist customers with bike sizing, fit adjustments, suspension setup, and equipment recommendations.
- Provide technical support for guided rides and respond to on-site mechanical issues when needed.
- Deliver outstanding customer service while maintaining a professional and welcoming attitude.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of professional bicycle mechanic or fleet maintenance experience.
- Strong knowledge of hydraulic disc brake systems (SRAM/Shimano).
- Experience servicing suspension systems (Fox, RockShox).
- Experience working with e-bike systems; Bosch, Shimano STEPs, or Fazua certifications are a plus.
- Wheel truing and wheel-building experience preferred.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Passion for cycling and delivering an exceptional customer experience.
- Ability to lift and maneuver bicycles weighing 50+ lbs.
- Ability to stand, bend, reach, and perform repetitive physical tasks throughout the workday.
- Comfortable working in a workshop environment and test riding bicycles on varying terrain to verify repairs.
