Salary: $156,000 - 176,800 per year Requirements:

• We administer and support IBM z/OS mainframe environments, including job scheduling configuration, LPAR performance, and IPL processes.
• We perform daily system health checks, job monitoring, and performance tuning using tools such as Omegamon, RMF, and SMF.
• We apply z/OS maintenance and upgrades using System Modification Program, ensuring changes are validated and documented.
• We configure and optimize IBM Workload Manager (WLM) to prioritize workloads and meet service goals.
• We monitor and support IBM Db2 for z/OS, including subsystem configuration, job tracking, performance tuning, and coordination with DBAs.
• We manage Hitachi mainframe-compatible storage systems, including volume allocation, data set migration, HSM policy enforcement, and storage analysis.
• We implement and maintain Data Domain backup technologies and snapshot-based recovery solutions to support disaster recovery, archiving, and restores.
• We administer RACF or equivalent security settings, conduct access audits, enforce compliance, and support incident investigations.
• We support SSL and related security protocols across mainframe subsystems to maintain secure communications and encryption compliance.
• We troubleshoot and resolve system and performance issues, including CPU utilization, storage bottlenecks, and misconfigured WLM policies.
• We maintain and support middleware integrations with CICS, MQ, IMS, FTP, and distributed systems via TCP/IP, VTAM, and SNA.
• We participate in and validate disaster recovery, backup, and restore procedures while maintaining operational runbooks and documentation.
• We implement and track changes through ITIL-aligned change management processes, ensuring controlled and auditable system modifications.
• We support mainframe modernization and re-platforming efforts by advising on system dependencies, data flows, and migration planning.

We are seeking a Mainframe System Administrator to support the administration, maintenance, and optimization of our mission-critical mainframe environment. This is a telecommute contract role with a salary of $75 to $85 per hour and a standard schedule of 9am to 5pm. The role supports both daily operations and project-based initiatives such as modernization and disaster recovery planning.
