Clinical Supervisor

Clinical Supervisor- Grant Funded

Length of Position: 5 years, contingent upon grant funding

Qualifications:

1. Must be certified in good standing as a licensed provider (LPC, LCSW, LSP, LCMHC, or LMFT). 2. Must possess a Master's degree related to the license.

3. Must have at least five years of child and adolescent therapy experience in a clinical setting. 4. Must be trained to provide clinical supervision.

Performance Responsibilities:

• Provides clinical supervision to school-based mental health services (SBMH) providers, giving support and insight into cases, treatment strategies, and best practices.

• Leads Professional Learning Communities (PLCs) to deliver targeted professional development specific to the school population(s) served and allow SBMH providers to collaborate, problem-solve with peers, and share resources.

• Provides school-based mental health services, including but not limited to group and individual counseling, to students within McDowell County School District in alignment with the framework of the district's MTSS model.

• Expands and/or refines school-based mental health services provided to students based upon their identified needs and progress over time.

• Keeps records of SBMH services provided.

• Provides all services in a manner consistent with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), the Protection of Pupil Rights Amendment (PPRA), the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA), Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act, the Americans with Disabilities Act, and all other applicable laws and profession-specific ethical obligations.

• Collaborates with the Project Director to design a professional development schedule and offer professional development based on provider needs.

• Collaborates with the Project Director and School Principals to choose School Counselors and School Social Workers to participate in the Grow Your Own initiative.

• With the Project Director and School Principals, creates and offers a one-year induction program for new SBMH providers.

• Helps the Project Director and School Principals select SBMH mentors.

• Engages in mentoring of SBMH staff, including providers needing targeted support and student interns.

• With the Project Director, designs an electronic health record system to allow for coordination of mental health service records.

• Provides oversight and support to SBMH providers as they track services provided to students and keep records using the electronic health record system.

• Stays abreast of current research and developments in the mental health services field.

• As appropriate, attends local, regional, and/or national conferences and meetings.

• Performs activities necessary to maintain licensure, such as continuing education.

• Performs other duties as assigned by the immediate supervisor.
