As an HHA, you will work closely with clients, families, and healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality home health services that promote independence and comfort.

Home Personal Caregiver Duties

• Assist patients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using tools like Hoyer lifts when necessary

• Monitor and observe patients’ health status, including vital signs and changes in condition, and report findings accurately using Electronic Health Record (EHR) or Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems

• Administer medications following prescribed instructions while adhering to HIPAA regulations for patient privacy and confidentiality

• Support patients with specialized needs such as Alzheimer's care, dementia care, memory care, hospice care, and working with individuals with developmental disabilities or disabilities

• Perform light housekeeping tasks including cleaning, laundry, meal preparation, and ensuring a safe living environment

• Document medical records and care activities precisely to ensure continuity of care and compliance with healthcare standards

• Assist with medical procedures such as catheter care, medication administration, and taking vital signs under supervision or as trained

Home Personal Caregiver Skills

• Strong patient observation skills to detect changes in health status promptly

• Experience working in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home health environments

• Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems for accurate documentation of patient care activities

• Knowledge of medical terminology relevant to home health care settings

• Ability to work compassionately with seniors and individuals with disabilities or chronic conditions like Alzheimer’s or dementia

• Certification in CPR and first aid to ensure safety during emergencies

• Familiarity with medical equipment such as Hoyer lifts and blood pressure cuffs

• Excellent communication skills for collaborating effectively with healthcare teams and families

• Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting patients safely and assisting with mobility needs

• Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA guidelines
