Job Summary Shift: Nights, 5pm - 5am. Southwire Company, LLC is one of North America’s largest wire and cable producers. Key Responsibilities Motivate a diverse workforce in lean processes and safety goals. Provide personal counseling and keep team members informed of policies and discipline as well as of operational changes. Enforce company policies and procedures in a fair and consistent manner. Proactively maintain safety rules, conduct team‑member safety meetings and safety education, and improve safety awareness throughout the organization by correcting unsafe behaviors as they occur. Initiate and attend meetings to ensure continuous improvement in processes and work habits. Coordinate and encourage team‑member involvement in team‑building meetings and projects. Minimize scrap and maximize efficiency and productivity according to facility goals. Monitor labor reports, payroll reports, and make daily updates to computer reports, and cooperate with all other departments and shifts. Maintain good housekeeping to improve safety and material flow. Troubleshoot production problems, coordinating with the tool attendant to ensure tools and equipment are available. Initiate continuous process improvements. Required Education & Experience HS Diploma/GED required. Minimum of 3 years of experience supervising production personnel (or similar), preferably in a dynamic shop floor environment. Thorough knowledge and understanding of mechanical systems and basic electrical principles. Ability to use standard electrical and mechanical measuring devices (i.e., multimeter, micrometer, calipers). Solid oral, written and listening communication skills in English. Enthusiasm, initiative, and effective judgment in a fast‑paced, result‑oriented environment; able to respond effectively to sudden and frequent changes in priorities. Experience with manufacturing software. Physical Requirements Continuous mental and/or visual attention to manufacturing functions. Frequent standing/walking throughout a 12‑hour period, with significant time on the production floor. Ability to lift up to 40 lb, frequent pulling, pushing, and bending. This position will involve work “on” and “off” the shift. Visual inspection, including color vision, is a necessity. Working Conditions Walking the production floor frequently. Standing for extended periods. Exposure to fumes or loud noise.
