Financial Analyst

Position Information The Financial Analyst will be responsible for providing financial and analytical support to the psychiatry & neuroscience department and other clinical departments as needed. Collaborating with the Finance and Administrative Officer (FAO), the incumbent will assist in reviewing budgets, conducting reconciliation activities, applying accounting principles and university policies to support accuracy of financial data for the department, and completing financial transactions. Full salary range: $33.92 - $49.61 per hour. Base salary offers are based on education, licensure, certifications, experience and business needs. Applicants must have current work authorization to accept a UCR staff position. We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa for staff. Responsibilities Provide financial and analytical support to the psychiatry & neuroscience department and other clinical departments. Collaborate with the Finance and Administrative Officer (FAO) to review budgets and conduct reconciliation activities. Apply accounting principles and university policies to support the accuracy of financial data. Complete financial transactions and related reporting. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in a related field and/or equivalent experience/training. 2‑4 years of related experience. Experience working in a financial role within a university or academic/healthcare setting. Experience using UCR financial tools, EPIC Cube, and/or Tableau. Preferred Qualifications Knowledge of finance policies, practices and systems. Team orientation, adaptability to changing priorities, and strong interpersonal skills at all levels. Attention to detail, multitasking ability, and organizational skills. Ability to gather, organize, and perform basic financial analysis assignments. Proficiency in spreadsheet and database software for moderately complex financial analysis, fiscal management and financial reports. Intermediate knowledge of internal control practices and their impact on protecting University resources. Ability to present information clearly and concisely both in writing and verbally.
