Required Qualifications Valid Speech Language Pathologist License in compliance with state regulations Current BLS certification (AHA/ARC) Preferred Qualifications Master’s Degree or higher in Speech Language Pathology Current Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech‑Language Pathology Speech Language Pathology experience, or new graduates are welcome to apply Other certifications or licenses may be required for this position Summary The Speech‑Language Pathologist (SLP) evaluates, diagnoses, and treats communication and swallowing disorders across all ages. The SLP develops individualized treatment plans to enhance speech, language, and cognitive‑communication abilities, collaborates with interdisciplinary teams and caregivers, and promotes overall quality of life. Essential Work Functions Utilize standardized assessments and clinical observation to evaluate speech, language, voice, fluency, and swallowing disorders. Design personalized therapy programs based on evaluation findings, patient goals, and evidence‑based practices. Continuously assess patient progress, adjust treatment plans as needed, and maintain detailed documentation in the electronic medical record. Educate patients, families, and caregivers on communication strategies, home exercises, and safe swallowing practices. Collaborate with healthcare teams to coordinate comprehensive patient care. Maintain a safe treatment environment by adhering to infection control protocols and safety guidelines. Engage in quality assurance initiatives and professional development activities. Perform other duties as assigned within scope of practice. Required Essential Skills Critical thinking and service excellence Strong interpersonal communication skills Proficiency in reading, writing, and communicating in English PC skills Understanding of written and verbal instructions Physical, Interpersonal, and Technical Requirements Must remain stationary, move equipment (50‑100 lb), push, pull, bend. Must work effectively with professional and ancillary personnel. Must possess fine motor skills for use of department equipment. Must cope with frequent public contact, meet deadlines under pressure, and handle irregular activity schedules. Must have visual acuity and effective communication abilities.
