Contract | 13 Weeks | Day/Evening Rotating Shifts | Shifts may include 2x8s, 2x10s, or 2x12s per week; weekends included; no block scheduling available — must be flexible for unit needs. Expected shift start times range from 0645–1045, with end times ranging through 2315.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide perioperative nursing care in a high-volume operating room environment handling 60–70 cases.
• Circulate in surgical cases across multiple service lines including Orthopedics, Spine, and Neurosurgery (e.g., ORIF with plates/screws/IM nails/non-unions; craniotomies for tumors, clippings, AVMs, bypass grafting, VP shunts, cranioplasties, and craniectomies).
• Operate within a Level 1 Trauma Center on a 25-bed unit, responding to trauma and emergent surgical needs.
• Utilize Epic for electronic charting and Pyxis for medication management.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary surgical teams across a variety of service lines; unit does not perform Cardiac or Transplant cases.
• Adhere to facility compliance requirements including timely completion of pre-start onboarding modules (non-billable, approximately 6–8 hours for RN).

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of Operating Room RN experience; Level 1 Trauma and Neurosurgery experience required.
• Active circulator skills required.
• BLS/BCLS certification required.
• Active Washington State RN license required; compact license holders must apply for a WA state license and/or complete the required 6-hour suicide prevention training and submit demographic data through the WA Board of Nursing site.
• Epic EMR experience required.
• Must be flexible with scheduling to meet unit needs; no block scheduling available and weekend availability is required.
• Requested time off limited to no more than 6 days for the contract period; no RTO accommodated during the first 2 weeks.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• 3–4 years of Operating Room experience preferred.
• Experience with Orthopedic procedures including ORIF (plates, screws, IM nails, non-unions) is highly desirable.
• Neurosurgery experience including craniotomies, AVMs, VP shunts, and cranioplasties is strongly preferred.
• Prior experience in a Magnet-designated or teaching hospital environment.
