Registered Nurse (RN) - Labor and Delivery - $33-41 per hour

Job Summary Provides professional nursing care within an assigned Labor & Delivery unit. Coordinates care planning with other disciplines. Renders individualized, age‑specific bedside nursing care based on the nursing process and patient needs. Acts as a supervisor by assessing, planning, delegating to and utilizing independent judgement in directing other healthcare employees for patient care. Systematically evaluates the quality and effectiveness of nursing practice to identify patient goals. Participates in hourly rounding, observes safety guidelines and safe work practices, and may be asked to be in charge of a shift or shifts. Key Responsibilities Assess physical, psychosocial, spiritual, educational, cultural, safety/risk and discharge planning needs on admission and ongoing basis. Determine nursing diagnosis based upon patient assessment and data analysis. Set practical, realistic and appropriate patient‑specific outcome goals; involve patient and family input. Individualize the patient’s plan of care based on needs and procedural complexities. Implement nursing and medical orders and assure they are appropriate to the patient’s status. Complete other tasks as assigned at the hospital. Special Skills Effective interpersonal skills and ability to work with team members. Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment with occasional periods of above‑average pressure. Excellent customer service skills. Basic computer skills. Minimum Requirements Nursing degree from an accredited nursing school. For Labor & Delivery: Advanced Fetal Monitoring certification or must obtain within six months of hire. For LevelII EQ only: Minimum two years of current LevelIII NICU experience, including neonatal ventilator. License to practice as a Registered Nurse in Arizona. CPR and ACLS as applicable by facility or department. ER, ICU, Endoscopy, Tele, Cardiac Cath Lab, Labor & Delivery: ACLS required upon orientation completion. ER: PALS or ENPC required or must obtain within ninety days. Post‑partum, Nursery, Labor & Delivery: NRP required upon orientation completion. Bariatrics: Certification or specialized training in bariatrics specialty area of practice. Wound Care: Wound‑Ostomy Certification or training in wound care and/or ostomy care. Preferred Requirements BSN. One year of acute care experience, but new graduates considered. Certification in specialty area of practice preferred. For PACU: ACLS required or must obtain within six months of hire; PALS preferred. ACLS.
