Position: Multiline P&C Underwriter
Type: Contract
Compensation: $80/hour
Location: Remote
Commitment: 20–40 hours/week

Role Responsibilities

• Design realistic underwriting scenarios involving new business, renewals, exposure analysis, and risk-improvement requirements.
• Create underwriting assessments, quote rationales, and declination explanations to support model training.
• Write "golden" reference responses at experienced underwriter quality to guide AI model outputs.
• Grade AI-generated responses against structured rubrics for technical accuracy and adherence to guidelines.
• Identify unsupported assumptions and inappropriate acceptance or declination decisions in AI outputs.
• Provide written feedback to the research team to improve model behavior and performance.

Qualifications

Must-Have

• 2+ years of professional P&C underwriting experience.
• Experience underwriting major segments like personal lines, commercial property, or professional liability.
• Understanding of the underwriting lifecycle from submission to nonrenewal.
• Ability to explain how account characteristics and market conditions affect underwriting decisions.
• Strong written reasoning, sound risk judgment, and high attention to detail.
• Ability to separate underwriting decisions from claims handling and brokerage advice.

Preferred

• CPCU , AU , ARM , or comparable insurance designation.
• Multiline underwriting authority.
• Experience with E&S, MGA/MGU, Lloyd's, or program-business.
• Catastrophe-exposed property or high-severity casualty experience.
• Experience with small commercial, middle-market, national-account, or high-net-worth segments.

Start Date

Compensation & Legal
