As a Medical Assistant you will be responsible for administering Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) sessions and ensuring patient safety. You will support providers and patients through a variety of tasks related to patient care management and technical assistance related to hyperbaric oxygen therapy sessions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare patients for hyperbaric oxygen therapy by reviewing medical history, treatment orders, and safety requirements.
• Educate patients and caregivers on HBOT procedures, risks, benefits, and post-treatment expectations.
• Operate a hyperbaric chamber in accordance with established clinical protocols and safety standards.
• Maintain clinical document workflows, ensuring that documents are accurate and organized.
• Monitor patients throughout treatment sessions, observing for signs of discomfort, adverse reactions, or complications.
• Document treatment parameters, patient responses, and clinical observations accurately in the electronic medical record (EMR).
• Greet, room, and prepare patients for evaluations and procedures.
• Accurately document clinical encounters in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR).

Minimum Qualifications:

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Prior experience as a Medical Assistant, Phlebotomist or Hyperbaric Technician.
• Knowledge of medical office management systems and procedures.
• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with patients and other external parties in a courteous and friendly manner.
• Must be detail-oriented, highly organized and able to maintain strict confidentiality.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Certification as a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) and/or a Hyperbaric Technician (CHT).
• Completion of an accredited medical assistance certification program.
• Experience operating a hyperbaric chamber

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift and position patients and equipment (up to 50 lbs)
• Prolonged standing, bending, and fine motor activity
• Exposure to bloodborne pathogens and surgical chemicals in accordance with OSHA Standards.
