Position Summary Physician- Correctional Health 1200 Clinic, 12-HR Nights (25k retention Bonus) – Harris County Jail. Salary $307,215.00 – $391,498.00. Responsibilities Provide high‑quality care for individuals housed in Harris County Jail, including intake health assessments, urgent care, and chronic illness management. Collaborate with advanced practice practitioners, nursing staff, and on‑site services such as radiology, pharmacy, nutrition, dental, and laboratory. Coordinate with Harris County Sheriff Office deputies and Harris Health Transfer Center or other local hospitals for higher‑level care when needed. Ensure regulatory and accreditation compliance for all clinical services. Requirements Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathy – Board Certified or eligible in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, or Emergency Medicine and maintain certification throughout employment. Valid Texas Medical Board license (MD or DO) and registered as a physician in the State of Texas. Active DEA license for the duration of employment. Completion of an ACGME‑accredited 3‑year or 4‑year residency in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, or Emergency Medicine. Excellent verbal communication skills (heavy public contact, public speaking) and written correspondence/reporting capabilities. Proficiencies in computer use, suturing, splinting, and EKG interpretation. Analytical abilities, mathematics, medical terminology knowledge, research knowledge, and related skills. Flexible work schedule; holidays may be worked; reports to Medical Director. No supervisory responsibilities. Additional Information Request for leave must be submitted sixty days in advance for approval; CME consists of five business days per year.
