Job Summary:
Intensive Care Unit Cardiovascular Registered Nurse (RN) opportunity in a healthcare facility located in Largo, Maryland. This role involves providing specialized post-operative care for cardiac surgery patients, including those recovering from procedures such as CABG, valve repair/replacement, and other cardiovascular interventions. The position requires extensive experience in cardiovascular intensive care, with a focus on critical patient management during the immediate post-op period.

Job Details:

• Schedule: Nights, 3x12-hour shifts from 7:30 PM to 8:00 AM, totaling 36 hours per week
• Required Qualifications: Maryland RN license, ACLS certification, BLS certification, minimum of 2 years of cardiovascular ICU (CVICU) experience, and at least 1 year of relevant patient care experience.
• Preferred Qualifications: Previous charge nurse experience, familiarity with Epic charting system, and experience in LTAC, trauma level II, or travel assignments.
• Certifications: ACLS, BLS, CPI certification (Calm Every Storm online version accepted), NRP or AAP certifications are also acceptable.
• Patient Diagnosis & Unit Details: Care for adult and geriatric cardiac surgery patients, including post-op management of CABG, valve repairs, CABG/valve combined procedures, and patients with diagnoses such as STEMI, NSTEMI, AFIB with RVR, and cardiogenic shock. The unit supports interdisciplinary services like respiratory therapy, social services, rapid response, and pharmacy.
• Additional Responsibilities: Management of invasive lines (arterial, central, PICC), ventilator support, Hemodynamic monitoring with FloTrac/Vigileo, and post-surgical assessments with immediate 12-hour 1:1 care.
• Float and Coverage: Float rotation may be required within the cardiothoracic specialty and sister units; candidate must be comfortable floating within the scope of practice.
