Temporary Collector

Role: To preserve the Credit Union's assets by controlling delinquent accounts, collecting delinquent loan payments and/or recovering collateral, disposing of repossessed collateral. Essential Functions & Responsibilities: Contact members regarding delinquent accounts and negotiate repayment options Educate members on available repayment options and financial assistance programs Follow up on broken promises and missed payments to ensure a timely resolution Maintain accurate records of collection efforts and member interactions in the system Review accounts to be recommended for charge-off and prepare monthly reportsCollaborate with the vendor to locate missing collateral and refer for repossession when necessary Knowledge and Skills: Experience: One year to three years of similar or related experience. Education: A high school education or GED. Interpersonal Skills: Work involves much personal contact with others inside and/or outside the organization for the purpose of first-level conflict resolution, building relationships, and soliciting cooperation.
