For more information about NEBCO, Inc., visit Job Summary Watkins - Omaha is looking for a self-motivated, hard worker, and reliable Yard Material Handler. This position performs day to day yard operations of shipping, receiving, customer service/loading, and inventory control. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Abides by Company Safety Program and Policies, while performing duties safely. Works with Watkins dispatcher and sales counter to process block sales orders for walk‑in customers and load block on customers’ vehicles. Processes warehouse sales orders for walk‑in customers and loads block on customers’ vehicles. Works with Watkins dispatcher and sales counter to prepare orders of block to be loaded onto Watkins trucks or vehicles of affiliated companies for delivery to contractors or dealers. Works with Watkins dispatcher and sales counter to load bulk aggregates for FOB customers’ vehicles and the Watkins dump trucks with the front‑end loader. Unloads incoming freight and inspects merchandise for shortages or damages and matches PO numbers with orders and processes attached paperwork. Stocks freight in the warehouse or block yard if new inventory. Ships to proper destination if necessary. Keeps inventory stocked in designated areas to facilitate accurate and efficient inventory count and allow for storage of daily production. Maintains the block yard in a clean and orderly manner. Assures SDS forms are maintained and up to date for accurate information and immediate review. Other duties as assigned. Education and/or Experience High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and previous experience in a construction &/or construction products related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Previous experience operating construction machinery or equipment—forklift, pallet loaders, lift truck and a front‑end loader and/or previous warehousing experience preferred. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations Must have a valid driver’s license and be insurable under the company insurance program. Ability to complete requirements of the Forklift Certification Program and pass the test for Watkins within 6 months of employment. Other Skills and Abilities Must be able to work a flexible work schedule, including weekends during busy season, including late or irregular hours. Must understand and maintain the internal and external customer service responsibilities of the position. Must be able to maintain a clean and safe yard and warehouse environment. Ability to read and comprehend delivery tickets and invoices, load, and sales tickets, SDS sheets and the company safety manual. Ability to frequently move and/or lift up to 75 pounds.
