Job Overview:
This position is part of the Production Management team supporting the Client Portfolio Risk and Margin plant, which encompasses both the Institutional and ETrade Margin and Risk business across PB Hedge Funds, OTC Derivatives, Listed, Commodities, and FX desks. The role includes weekend on-call duties and business escalation. The Production Management team is a global group responsible for ensuring optimal performance and stability of applications and infrastructure, providing critical IT services to multiple businesses and product lines. This role offers a fast-paced and dynamic environment with a mix of technical and business challenges, allowing the candidate to develop an in-depth understanding of technologies and business operations. The team operates on a global, follow-the-sun basis, including weekend coverage on rotation.

Responsibilities:

• Monitor and respond to user-reported issues and infrastructure alerts promptly and professionally, ensuring issues are tracked through to resolution.
• Ensure efficient incident management with accurate communication to impacted groups and timely resolution.
• Facilitate root cause investigations and manage the implementation of corrective and preventative measures.
• Manage coverage during North America, Asia, and Europe market hours, including weekend pre-open ready-for-business checks.
• Proactively identify and respond to failures promptly.
• Partner with development teams to drive stability, operational excellence, and a culture of efficiency.
• Ensure team knowledge is current and forward-looking.
• Respond to regulatory and compliance issues with urgency.
• Liaise with external technology vendors and exchanges to coordinate changes and resolve connectivity and market data issues.
• Review, execute, and verify production changes in strict accordance with procedures defined in change documents.
• Take an active role in planned technology events, such as business continuity tests, ensuring recovery procedures are accurate and complete.
• Leverage tools and resources within the firm to simplify, automate, or eliminate inefficiencies.

Qualifications:

• Strategic mindset with a focus on tooling, automation, and efficiency.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with analytical capabilities.
• Proficiency with Linux and databases.
• Strong scripting skills, such as Perl, Python, or UNIX shell.
• Network diagnostic skills and experience with networks and real-time messaging technologies (multicast, TCP/IP, UDP, SNMP).
• Excellent spoken and written English communication skills.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field from an accredited college or university.

Desired Skills:

• Experience providing application support for mission-critical applications.
• Good working knowledge of trading and risk management business concepts.
• Familiarity with job scheduling tools (e.g., Autosys) and version control tools (e.g., Perforce/Clear Case).
• Familiarity with cloud technologies and supporting applications hosted on the cloud.

Pay Range: $50 - $54/hour
