Restaurant General Manager

OVERVIEW

The Level99 team is seeking a Restaurant General Manager who will play an integral part in the Food & Beverage management team. This role works closely with multiple key departments within the operation, including the Events Department, Culinary, and Entertainment departments to ensure the smooth functioning of the Tap Room and Beer Hall while supporting increased event execution efficiency and upholding hospitality standards. The role requires an inspirational leader with impactful floor presence in‑service, event execution, guest connection, and the ability to maximize the Taproom & Beer Hall to elevate Level99’s overall standard of hospitality. The Restaurant General Manager is passionate about getting the details right, continually improving, meeting guest needs before being asked, and advancing the Level99 brand through our partner relationship with Night Shift Brewing. A successful leader will identify and develop quality people, coach employees, and manage performance with honesty, humility, and personal integrity, acting as an owner of the food & beverage business in their venue.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Always seek to connect with guests, cultivate relationships, and create regulars. Uphold the standards set by Level99 and Night Shift Kitchen + Tap. Recruit, hire, train and continually develop a team of hourly and salaried employees. Drive sales through creative programming opportunities developed with the VP of Food & Beverage, VP of Operations, and VP of Marketing & Strategy. Listen to guest and staff needs and expectations by being approachable and positive, with an energetic attitude. React quickly in a suitable manner for each situation, displaying skill in leading and navigating hard conversations with grace, maturity, and decisiveness. Take initiative, seeing what needs to be done, and be proactive to keep things moving forward on each shift. Use and maintain all operational systems such as Toast POS, OpenTable, Sling, Lever, and others as needed. Schedule hourly employees within a set area of responsibility, targeting levels that drive sales and achieve guest and team hospitality goals. Measure performance of hourly team members using metrics set by the organization. Coach team members on all aspects of hospitality and food and beverage service. Utilize best practices during the shift to ensure cost of goods are maintained within target. Ensure guest safety within the venue, including entertainment safety, continuously monitoring and addressing foreseeable risks to guest health and welfare, and ensuring adherence to all food safety standards. Responsible for ensuring events are optimally staffed with individuals that embody Level99’s cultural values. Seamlessly work with and support food and beverage, events, and entertainment teams. Perform other tasks as assigned.

MUST‑HAVE SKILLS

Ability to work a flexible schedule based on business needs, including days, nights, weekends, holidays, and emergency responsiveness. Able to be onsite 5 days a week, averaging 9 hours per day over the course of the year; more may be required seasonally. Capable of working nine‑hour-plus shifts and standing, sitting, squatting, or walking for extended periods, including stairs. Able to grasp, reach overhead, push, lift, and carry up to 50 pounds. Collaborate with all management teams to ensure optimal communication. Work well under pressure in a fast‑paced, ever‑changing environment. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Highly organized with strong attention to detail. High integrity and professionalism. High school education or equivalent. Understand, utilize, and embrace new technology, including Microsoft Office and Google Workspace. Promote positive, fair, and ethical relations with all team members as an ambassador of the Level99 brand. Compassionate, empathetic, humble, respectful, and kind – very high emotional intelligence. OTHER DESIRABLE (BUT NOT NECESSARY) SKILLS & EXPERIENCE INCLUDE Knowledge of a second language, particularly Spanish, is a plus. Minimum 5 years experience managing people in a high‑volume entertainment and/or food & beverage business. Relevant education: B.S. in Hospitality Management or related degree. Previous General Manager experience. $80,000 – $110,000 a year While we don’t expect a candidate to have deep experience in all of the above, we’re looking for someone with the passion and capability to learn quickly in areas that are new.
