Loan Documentation Administrator

Loan Documentation Administrator Pay Range: $28.88 - $38.51 per hour. Full-time. Utica, NY. Job Description: The Loan Documentation Administrator at NBT is responsible for preparing, reviewing, and ensuring accuracy and compliance for loans across the bank’s lines of business. The role involves developing and influencing documentation policy with the department manager, applying advanced knowledge of loan accounting system setup, documentation software, origination software, policy, procedures, regulations, and law to protect the bank’s interests and assets. Responsibilities include analyzing complex loan documentation and structure, including swaps, participations, syndications, and letters of credit, and providing independent decision making. The administrator works with General Counsel and external counsel to create appropriate language in documentation, manages bank-approved attorneys, develops and maintains standardized legal language for approved external counsel, and leads development and testing of enhancements and upgrades to documentation and origination systems. Education and Experience Bachelor’s degree and 3 years of experience required. Equivalent combination of education and experience also acceptable. Professional or customer service experience preferred. Skills and Abilities Ability to comprehend complex commercial loan structures, loan policy, regulations, and law; analyze requests and required data; identify and communicate risks. Strong organizational skills. Good written and oral communication skills. Strong reading and comprehension skills. Intermediate computer skills. Accounting skills preferred. May occasionally be required to work outside of normal business hours, including evenings or weekends. Tasks Performed 25% Accountable for support of loan documentation preparation and/or review of complex commercial loan documentation ensuring accuracy and meeting requirements. 25% Develop and implement new products or enhancements within loan documentation or origination systems; train new employees and/or new products/work flow. 15% Maintain advanced knowledge and demonstrate ongoing compliance with all applicable laws and regulations; adhere to policies, procedures, and internal controls. 10% Uphold service level standards under normal conditions. 5% Assist with employee training and onboarding. 5% Perform other duties as assigned. Physical Requirements Communicate effectively with internal and/or external customers. Stationary 75% of time or greater. Move objects up to 10 lbs.
