Office Specialist I - Anticipated Vacancy

This position will provide administrative support to the Compliance and Licensing divisions, including data entry for complaints and inspections, tracking Compliance Inspector self-initiated work, closing inspections and complaints, correspondence between staff, licensees, and registrants, answering telephones, and responding to email inquiries. This position requires advanced office and administrative support services and proficiency in modern office practices and equipment necessary to perform diverse administrative functions. This position must handle difficult individuals professionally. Responsibilities require the use of independent judgment, initiative, and discretion to make determinations on a range of matters.

Representative tasks include complying with State policies, reviewing information from electronic systems, examining motor vehicle title applications, developing web pages, coding and reconciling data, writing reports, recommending improvements, researching and analyzing information, presenting information, repairing and maintaining materials, and determining inventory/supplies.

Knowledge of payroll principles, human resources practices, quality control of data, motor vehicle title laws, web page development, data verification, research, inventory management, and information systems is required. Ability to conduct research, write reports, develop work methods, understand management goals, repair materials, and possess independent judgment is also required.

Minimum qualifications include training, education, or experience in office and administrative support work demonstrating competency in modern office practices and the ability to use independent judgment. Some positions may require a valid Class B Maine Motor Vehicle Operator's License.
